Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Community Schools Theater and Arts Presents Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Auditions!
For anyone ages 14 - 24 years old, with the exception of the 5 kid roles (Charlie Bucket, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, and Mike Teavee), which anyone ages 8 - 24 years old can audition for.
For auditions, bring in any prepared song of your choosing (pick any song you think shows of your talent the best!) and a karaoke track to play with it. We will provide a monologue at the audition to read!
Auditions will be held at the Rose Union Community Building in Room 3. (10694-10698 School St, Clyde, NY 14590) on Friday, June 7th from 3pm to 8pm and Saturday, June 8th from 10am to 6pm. (if you are selected for callbacks they will be held Sunday, June 9th 2pm - 5pm)

Willy Wonka
The sly, charming star of the show. Lithe, eccentric. His larger-than-life persona can go from charming and comical, to magically mysterious and dark.
Charlie Bucket
Sweet, smart, hopeful and loving. A boy with wonderful innocence and vulnerability.
Grandpa Joe
Impish. He is Charlie's imaginative, fun, kind and loving grandfather. After many years being confined to a bed, his childish energy returns when Charlie finds the Golden Ticket!
Mrs. Bucket
Charlie's warm and kind-hearted mother. Worrier. Generous and loving.
Grandma Josephine
One of Charlie’s grandmothers, A little old loony lady who constantly loses her teeth.
Grandma Georgina
Another one of Charlie’s grandmothers, A loud snorer, who drives her husband crazy!
Grandpa George
Charlie’s other grandfather who’s a real grump!
Mrs. Gloop
Augustus's German, moronic, Wagnerian mother. Mirthlessly smiles as though it were affixed to the front of her face.
Augustus Gloop
One of the Golden ticket winners, Augustus, loves to eat everything and anything he can get his hands on. Rampantly over-active.
Mr. Salt
Veruca's goofy, eccentric, distracted, hilarious father. Finds it impossible to say no, giving in to every ridiculous demand his daughter makes.
Veruca Salt
Another Golden Ticket winner who always gets what she wants. She is Vicious and determined to win whatever special prize Wonka has in store.
Mr. Beauregarde
Violet's ineffectual father. Ignores his back-talking, insult-hurling daughter.
Violet Beauregarde
Another Golden Ticket winner who is Confident, forward, and full of attitude.
Mike Teavee
Another Golden Ticket winner who is a fireplug with a ridiculous amount of energy.
Mrs. Teavee
She needs amphetamines to get through the day and deal with her outrageous son. Tense, extreme, and hilarious.
Mrs. Green
A wacky, eccentric shopkeeper who wheels around her cart of used vegetables.
Jerry
Co-star news reporter with Cherry this reporter is determined to find the mystery behind Wonka.
Cherry
Co-star news reporter with Jerry this reporter is eccentric and very loud, she travels the world interviewing the golden ticket winners!
Oompa Loompas
Wonka’s factory workers, they appear in times of destruction in the factory with a jolly old attitude! (and sing some terrifying tunes)
Sorting Squirrels
In charge of sorting the good nuts from the bad nuts these squirrels dance and sing about while tearing apart those bad nuts.
Townsfolk/reporters
The ensemble of the show, People who live in various towns, whether it be the popstars in California or the peppy dancers in Bulgaria, these people appear in the background for various dance numbers and scenes throughout Act one!
