Get Ready to Grow is a community initiative managed by the Children’s Institute.
The program provides free, quick, and fun screenings to children from 1 - 5 years of age.
"It Takes You" - A Digital Book
“It Takes You: Planting Seeds for Learning and Growing in Wayne County” is an excellent resource for families with young children.

This digital book, available in English and Spanish, contains 20 activities families can do with their young children to prepare them for Kindergarten. There are also additional recommendations included, such as books, videos, websites, apps, and other family-strengthening activities. It was created by early childhood educators and is provided free of charge to all families registering children for Kindergarten in the eleven Wayne County public schools.
