On January 17, 2024, Wayne County Community Schools and Literacy Volunteers held the first meeting of their Infant and Toddler Book Club at Imprint Coffee House in Sodus, NY.
The second floor of the beautiful Coffee House was filled with adults and children reading books together, participating in hands-on literacy-based activities, and socializing with new friends and neighbors. The energy in the room was inspiring and the event was enjoyed by attendees of all ages. We shared the story “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats. Each child was provided with a copy of the book to keep for their own personal library.
The purpose of this collaboration between Wayne County Community Schools, Literacy Volunteers, and Imprint Coffee Roasting is to enhance the love of reading in Wayne County with our youngest residents and provide books to all children. Reading to young children increases the literacy abilities of our future generations!
